Prime Ministers wife Sarah Brown opens the new Tommy's research centre in Edinburgh

THE Prime Minister's wife yesterday spoke of her delight as she opened a new Scottish research centre looking for answers to serious problems during pregnancy.
Sarah Brown, whose first child, Jennifer Jane, died aged just ten days after being born prematurely, launched the new Tommy's centre of excellence in Edinburgh.

The Tommy's lab will work alongside the Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory, which is also based at the Queen's Medical Research Institute in Edinburgh.

Mrs Brown said: "It's a real delight for everyone who is part of this centre – and part of some of the other projects and labs at work here – to see Tommy's arrive and actually open its doors today."

Such a sad world we live in at times, when on topics such as this, which should be treated with the utmost sensitivity, we have people that make such derogatory remarks, they required removal.

Thankyou!, it is oblivious that #7 omitted to read this part of the reason, that this centre was opened,

For me I don't care if 'Sarah Brown' was the,

'Queen of Sheba' ,,or,,

'A Homeless Tramp'

The whole point being, any lost Baby just before birth, or very soon after Birth, is Tragic and Devastating.

Anyone that aids help to the 'Tommy Cause' is making a worthwhile effort to help not only the Mothers that lost their Baby, but to help this Loss happening in the future.

Just to clarify, Tommy is a Charity and,

"In 2002 Mrs Brown's first child, Jennifer Jane, died aged just 10 days. The experience led the Browns to start a research fund to investigate the causes of premature births.

Mrs Brown was one of the driving forces behind the establishment in 2004 of the Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory, also at the University of Edinburgh."

Tommy’s, the baby charity exists to save babies’ lives because right now in the UK 1 in 4 women loses a baby during pregnancy or birth. We fund research into and provide information on the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth. By 2030 we want to halve the number of babies who die during pregnancy or birth. www.tommys.org
