What will he be marketing? The annuity book has been sold off (PHEW, just in time!) and there is little else left when IFAs are finally confined to the incinerator.

It all smacks of rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. Expensive rearranging at that, never mind, the with profit (JOKE) policyholders will pay yet again.

Peter Joshi is an actuary:

He is on some powerful committees of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries. Being Marketing Director at what's left of Standard Life plc is a waste of his skills.

I have always been taught to be suspicious of companies that either re-vamp their headquarters or spend money beefing up their marketing. Once upon a time - a time I am sure Peter Joshi can remember - Standard Life's quality didn't have to flaunt itself.
