Merged publishers on a steady course

SEAMANSHIP International, the Livingston-headquartered marine sector publisher, is merging with family publisher Witherby's.
The 50-50 merger will bring control of the new business, to be named Seamanship International, to the company's Scottish headquarters.

Both companies export more than 60 per cent of their annual turnover, which will total around £3.5 million after the merger.

Seamanship's managing director, Iain MacNeil, said: "Our aim to is to continue to grow the combined business organically but we shall also be looking at further acquisitions."
