Deal reached over fishing quotas

MINISTERS have struck a landmark deal with Scots fishermen in a move aimed at preserving cod stocks.
The Conservation Credits Scheme will allow fishermen to spend the same number of days at sea in 2008 as last year, in return for complying with new measures.

#2 Highland Way. I don't know if you to are having a private fight but on the basis of the comment and the article, you appear to be the one who is neurally-challenged.

#1 War dog-I agree entirely. Good news for the industry in Berwickshire and elsewhere, I hope. Quite a contrast to the treatment of the industry up to now. It beggars belief that Highland Way can't understand that.

I visited Lossiemouth last summer, and it was sad to see the harbour empty of fishing boats.

The fishermen have some cheek when they have been responsible for the destruction of their own industry.


It's far too little far too late.
