SCOTTISH Water has named the first of its framework partners for the infrastructure part of the forthcoming capital investment programme.
A total of ten companies, including Carillion Water, Farrans Construction and Rok Civil Engineering have been selected to work on infrastructure projects with Scottish Water's in-house delivery vehicle, CID, and its joint venture partnership delivery vehicle, Scottish Water Solutions.
Scottish Water's head of capital programme procurement, Lorna McGregor said: "We are pleased to be able to confirm that these companies will be our infrastructure framework partners for the next regulatory period.
"They have the right skills and resources to meet our future needs in this area."
Scottish Water's infrastructure programme will see some £500 million investment every year from April 2010.
Chief executive Richard Ackroyd added: "Our investment is carefully considered to ensure that we are using our customers' money wisely."
More announcements on framework partnership arrangements are expected from Scottish Water in the coming weeks.
