French utility EDF reckons it might take 18 months to buy ScottishPower-owner Iberdrola, its top executive was quoted as saying yesterday, amid speculation over the power firm's fate.
EDF is reportedly in talks with ACS, which owns 13 per cent of Iberdrola, about buying and dividing Spain's largest utility.
