Dispute leaves street in dark

RESIDENTS say they have been left in the dark because of a four-year dispute over streetlights in their road.
People living in Duff Street Lane, Dalry, say there have been several accidents in the lane at night. Streetlights were installed a year ago, but because it is a private road the council cannot order them to be switched on.

A council spokeswoman said the authority had adopted two wall lights in the lane, which it was working with ScottishPower to have switched on, but others were the responsibility of the landowner.

I dunno...maybe this story needs a little more work before publication. Because as things stand, it's not much of a story.
