EDINBURGH Airport is in line for a top award after two-thirds of passengers gave it the thumbs-up in a recent survey.
Sixty-four per cent of people polled in a survey by holiday firm the Co-operative Travel scored the quality of service and facilities at the airport as "good" to "excellent", the equivalent of seven out of ten or higher.
Management at the airport are now hoping that its good reputation will translate into votes in the Star Awards, the largest scheme of its kind that rewards travel providers which have excelled over the year.
Gordon Dewar, managing director of Edinburgh Airport, said: "Despite the challenging economic backdrop, Edinburgh Airport has emerged as the fastest growing of the UK's major airports.
"This year has seen Edinburgh Airport set new records, including our busiest ever month in July with 955,000 passengers. We have seen seven airlines launch a total of 29 new international services across 12 different countries during the course of the last year."
