Revival plan makes sweet music for HMV with 11.9% jump in group sales
ENTERTAINMENTS retailer HMV said its group total sales increased by 11.9 per cent as the company ends the first year of a three-year turnaround plan.
HMV saw like-for-like sales rise 7.3 per cent in the year to April 26, making it one of the best performers of the past year.
HMV said its turnaround plan was ahead of schedule as same-store sales growth at its UK and Ireland HMV shops was even further ahead at 11.4 per cent.
Simon Fox, chief executive said: "We have made good progress driving forward our strategic initiatives to increase efficiency."
