£3m to retrain jobless Scots

THOUSANDS of people hit by redundancy are to benefit from a £3 million training scheme, it has been announced.
The cash, from the European Social Fund, will help 3,150 people, education secretary Fiona Hyslop said.

She claimed: "More individuals than ever in Scotland will be able to benefit from government support in training to find employment.

"This is a hugely flexible offer.

People will be able to get financial support of hundreds of pounds to thousands, depending on what training is right for them."

Ms Hyslop announced the skills regeneration plan during a visit to a training operation in Edinburgh.

Praise be to the sweet baby jesus !

So from the £40 million a day we give the EU we finally got £3m back !!

It kind of like you giving me a £146 and me telling you what to do and how to do it, fining you if you don't do so as your told (regardless of how ridiculous it is), giving you back 3 pence and asking you to thank me for it!

How the Scottish/British people ever allowed their politicians to sign our mastery of our own destiny away to the corrupt and parasitic EU. We should demand a referendum on Europe before it is too late but the politicians love Europe because if they get fired it is a place that they can go quietly and sponge off taxpayers money again !!

#1 SO you ignore the money "got back" from the EU to fund roads, bridges and other infrastructure, the cash won by Universities in research grants BUT focus on £3m extra fixed up to help the unemployed.....hardly balanced....

The training will likely consist of teaching 50 year olds computer skills, which will put them on a par with all 16 year old school kids.

Upon independence,Scotland should implement compulsory military service for 18 months, males and females 17 years old or after secondary school graduation. Trades
training, paid for Uni or military career. A win-win for Scotland and its citizens.

As well, the Black Watch, A and S H, Queens Own H and Royal Scots must be re-instated.
