Menzies meets expectations

JOHN Menzies, the Edinburgh-based logistics and aviation services group, said both of its businesses are continuing to trade in line with expectations, despite "challenging" market conditions.
Its distribution arm, which delivers newspapers and magazines, has been the subject of a cost-cutting strategy. The firm said the magazines market "remains challenging" with monthly volumes declining.

Newspapers have performed well with strong cover price growth offsetting any volume decline.
