Dark Star buys pair of hotels

DARK Star, the Scottish leisure group, has bought two Aberdeenshire hotels for a total of £3.5 million.
Euan Bain, director of Dark Star, said he expected ten jobs to be created at the White Horse Inn, in Balmedie, and the Cove Bay Hotel, in Cove, in the coming months. The firm, which is part of the Glasgow-based McKever Group, already owns bars and restaurants in the Central Belt and a hotel in Dunfermline. Its turnover is expected to reach £8m this year.
