All eyes are set to be on Royal Bank of Scotland as it unveils its results for the first half of the year. It is widely forecast to post the biggest loss in UK banking history, with analysts putting its losses at between £1 billion and £1.5bn. It could also give an update on any revenue-raising disposals.
Also reporting are Schroders, which is lined up for half-year figures, and Stanley Gibbons, also due to post interim results.
It's all quiet on the economic front in the UK, although wholesale inventories are due to be published in the US.
