CHARITY campaigners fighting to save one of Scotland's leading grant-making trusts have described today's meeting with the Lloyds Banking Group as the most important in its history.
The meeting in London between the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland and the banking group is aimed at resolving a dispute over moves by the bank to halve its charitable arm's annual income due to the financial crisis and place a banking director on its board.

Mary Craig, chief executive of the foundation, said:

"We can only hope that the many voices of support and the letters that have been sent directly to Lloyds Banking Group will have underlined just how vital the funding from the foundation is to the voluntary sector. Without it, many lives could be sadly affected."
