SCOTTISH pharmaceutical company ProStrakan has seen product revenues rise 38 per cent in the first four months of the year.
The Borders firm said trading was at the upper end of expectations, helped by the strong euro.

Among its main emerging products is Sancuso, which helps prevent nausea and vomiting occurring as a side-effect of chemotherapy. The company said it plans to launch the drug in the United States in the second half of this year, subject to approval.

Xomolix, the injectable drug for the prevention and treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting, has recorded growth of 75 per cent.

Dr Wilson Totten, ProStrakan's chief executive, said: "ProStrakan has made an excellent start to the year in terms of product sales in Europe and we have made solid progress in the US."
