Shares in the UK's second-biggest pubs group soared nearly 30 per cent yesterday after Revenue officials rubber-stamped plans to take on tax-efficient real estate investment trust (Reit) status.
Enterprise Inns, which has 7,000 pubs, has been in talks with Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs for the past year over the potential move to a Reit.
