TWO former directors of drinks giant Scottish and Newcastle have set up a new company based in the Capital that helps reduce the environmental impact of pubs.
Christie Slater and Rob Woodcock have joined inventor Paul Menzies to set up Geo Bar, a system that uses excess heat created by chilling equipment to warm water or contribute to pub heating systems.
It has installed 20 of the systems in pubs across the UK owned by Punch Taverns, Pub Enterprises, Thwaites, Charles Wells and Caledonian Heritable. The company said its work so far has saved its customers £78,000 from energy bills and cut more than 100 tonnes of carbon usage.
