MELROSE Resources stands to gain £60 million from a deal to provide gas storage facilities in Bulgaria, according to analysts.
The company began negotiations to use its Galata gasfield as a storage facility last year, and the government is said to want to do a deal. Melrose has been surprised at the speed with which the talks have progressed and looks set to beat off Russian giant Gazprom.
House broker Brewin Dolphin values the contract at £60m – around 13 per cent of Melrose's current market capitalisation.
