EDINBURGH Castle has been voted Scotland's favourite landmark in a poll to commemorate a famous engineer.
The survey to mark Isambard Kingdom Brunel's birthday saw the Castle beat off the likes of the Forth Bridge, the Wallace Monument and Ben Nevis.
On a UK-wide basis, it came fourth behind Big Ben, Stonehenge and the London Eye. It was Scotland's only top ten entry.
The survey was carried out by Faithful and Gould – a project and cost management consultancy.
George Murray, of Faithful and Gould Scotland, said: "Scots are hugely proud of the environment around them. Let's hope that new landmarks continue to emerge for Scots and the rest of the world to be passionate about."
