Venture capitalist to set up Edinburgh hub
SEATTLE Accelerator Corporation, a £2bn venture capitalist specialising in life science deals, said it plans to replicate its incubator operation in Edinburgh by establishing what would be its European hub.
It expects to invest at least £12.5m in seed capital within the first four years.
Accelerator's plans bring some relief to the Scottish life sciences sector after Ardana last week put itself up for sale and Aim-listed Stem Cell Sciences, the pioneering Edinburgh University spin-out, announced it was moving to Cambridge.
