ONE in nine of all mergers and acquisitions in Scotland now involves businesses in distress, according to research by data provider Corpfin in conjunction with insolvency trade body R3.
The figures from Corpfin show that the number of distressed deals taking place has risen since the onset of the credit crunch.

According to R3, it indicates that businesses with access to acquisition finance are taking the opportunity to build their portfolios and grow market share.
