HECTOR Sants, chief executive of the Financial Services Authority, is due to speak in Edinburgh on Wednesday at an event hosted by Scottish Financial Enterprise and the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.
Ron Hewitt, ECC's chief executive, said: "As Mr Sants has been at the heart of steering a course through the credit crunch, and the recent merger deal between Lloyds TSB and HBOS, we are expecting a fascinating insight into management at the heart of some very turbulent waters."

If Sants had any insight to contribute, the crisis might not have happened. After all he was only head of wholesale markets before the crisis erupted in .. - .. oh! no! Batman! .. - .. wholesale markets!

Insight by the way is the inaptly named investment management arm of .. - .. oh! no! Batman! .. - .. HBOS!
