EAGLE Couriers has bought out QED for a six-figure sum, ending 25 years of rivalry between the two firms.
The Edinburgh-based pair were both founded in Scotland in the 1980s and have since battled for business in the capital.

Under the deal, Eagle, which has grown significantly since a management buyout in 2005, will immediately incorporate QED's 15-strong fleet of delivery vans into its Edinburgh depot. The acquisition will provide an extra £500,000 turnover a year for Eagle. The firm, which boasts a client list including the BBC and BT, will also continue QED's contracts with clients such as the NHS and HBOS.
