Top store to test ban on cheques

CHEQUES are to be phased out at Scotland's busiest department store, it emerged yesterday.
As part of a three-month trial, John Lewis Edinburgh will refuse cheque payments after 25 February.
Andrew McMillan, the customer service manager, said: "We are keen to take this opportunity to see if customers appreciate the faster service at the tills that we will be able to provide if we are only processing cash and card payments."
