Confidence bounce muted

CONSUMER confidence has improved marginally this month despite mounting concern over job losses and worries of a looming recession, research today suggests.
The GfK NOP barometer of UK consumer confidence increased by one point to minus 35 since last month, but this is only a fraction higher than the record low of minus 39 set in July.
The group said the improvement was caused by slight increases across its confidence measures.
