Tesco Zooms to sign Baillieston lease

TESCO has taken a 15-year lease on just under 4,000sq ft at £13.50 a sq ft on a new development in Glasgow Road, Baillieston, and will open as Tesco Express in December. The landlord, Zoom Properties, was represented in the deal by Jonathan McManus, who formed McManus Property Consultants after leaving Colliers CRE during downturn redundancies. He said: "This is a big boost for what is a secondary business location."

rance to Peebles on the Inverkeithen/Edinburgh road.

TWO deals at Centrum House in Dundas Street, Edinburgh – Cherrybank Dental Spa, the Perth-based dental practice, Montagu Evans (acting), has signed a 15-year lease on a 3,690sq ft suite, and Russell Jones and Walker, (Eric Young and Co acting), has relocated from its West End office on a ten-year lease of 1,420sq ft suite. James Barr and Knight Frank for the landlord, Highcross.

AND two more deals in another house – this time Orbital House in East Kilbride. Goals, which formerly occupied a ground floor suite, is expanding and taking more space – 4,476sq ft on a ten-year lease – and the 2,695sq ft it vacates has been picked up by renewable energy company RES Group on a ten-year lease. CBRE acted with Ryden for landlord Kilmartin Property Group, both tenants self-represented.

LONDON card and gift retailer Scribbler has taken a five-year lease on a 590sq ft unit at Buchanan Galleries, Glasgow, its second Scottish store (Edinburgh is the other one). CBRE acted for Buchanan, Michael Peddar & Co for Scribbler.

SGM Property Consultants and CB Richard Ellis, on behalf of Retail Property Holdings, have concluded a deal with John Taylor (Giffnock) t/a Panasonic for a 1,366sq ft unit at Silverburn Shopping Centre, Glasgow, on a 15-year lease at an annual rent of £55,000. Jones Lang LaSalle acted for the tenant.

HEALTH and fitness outfit Pure Gym is to open its first Edinburgh branch at the city's Quartermile development at Lauriston Place. It has struck a 15-year deal with landlord Aviva for 15,600sq ft, kicking off with two rent-free years and a £75,000 capital contribution. Eric Young for Aviva, Jones Lang LaSalle for Pure Gym.
