A SWINE flu vaccine windfall worth $152 million (£92.3m) has contributed to a leap in third-quarter profits at drug giant AstraZeneca.
AstraZeneca yesterday said it saw a 23 per cent hike in profits and 10 per cent rise in sales, helped in part by sales of its H1N1 vaccine as it began shipping doses earlier this month under the US immunisation programme.

On Wednesday, fellow pharmaceutical firm GlaxoSmithKline confirmed expectations for £1 billion in swine flu vaccine sales in the fourth quarter alone.
