FRENCH energy giant EDF yesterday played down reports that it is seeking to offload a further 20 per cent stake in British Energy.
It said it has no current plans to part with more of the East Kilbride-based firm after it sold a 20 per cent share to Centrica for 2.5 billion (£2.2bn) last May. EDF has stated it wants to sell off 5bn worth of assets. Its UK electricity distribution network is thought to be among the targets.
