A MAN'S body was found in the wheel well of a British Airways jumbo jet at Los Angeles International Airport, authorities said today.
The 747-400 had arrived from London's Heathrow Airport yesterday afternoon local time and was to depart for a return flight about two hours later.

Authorities said they had not identified the victim today, saying only that he was a young black male.

Investigators are trying to determine if he got into the aircraft in Los Angeles, London, or a previous departure point.

The airline notified officials of the discovery about an hour after the plane landed, said airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles.

"One of the pilots was conducting a pre-flight check of the aircraft and the pilot discovered an unidentified body in the front right wheel well," Castles said.

On January 12, the body of a young African man was discovered in the wheel well of a Delta plane that landed in Atlanta from Dakar, Senegal.

So, what do we take from this. Maybe if you have something that might end the flight before landing you might want to 'hide' it in the wheel well? Who the hell is in charge of security these days - they need a damned good firing!

#1 What you take from this Conan is there are people living in terrible places, so terrible that they believe that hiding near the wheels of an aircraft so they might just be able to escape the hell hole they have just left.

I suspect this will have been some poor person who has tried to flee a country from a previous departure point.

Mind you, who knows, some people have pretty desperate lives in LA and the UK but nothing quite so desperate as some other countries.

It is so sad when someone does something like this and their dreams and hopes of a better life are gone.

The security issue seems to have failed too.
