SMALL BUT BEAUTIFUL
EVOLUTION Group, the investment bank, yesterday said that its performance has been "satisfactory" and that it remains confident in its prospects for the year ahead.

In a trading update, the group said: "The group's investment banking and private
client businesses continue to trade profitably.

"Although forecasting revenues and profits with any accuracy is difficult, given current market conditions, we believe the group's performance is satisfactory and we remain confident in the prospects for the full year."

Evolution Group, which has a market cap of about £200 million, said its investment banking and private client businesses continue to trade profitably.

The group includes Evolution Securities, its investment bank, which has more than 70 retained clients.

Other companies in the group include: Williams de Broë, a private client investment management firm, with offices in Bath, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Exeter, Guildford and London; and Evolution Securities China, which has offices in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai, and specialises in trading in the Far East.
