Firm fined, adviser banned
THE Financial Services Authority has fined Kilmarnock firm Mortgage Master £11,900 and banned adviser Ian Sanderson from operating.
The firm was fined for failing to supervise Sanderson, who the FSA said entered false information on mortgage applications, and must review the adviser's mortgage files, informing all lenders and clients of cases of false information. Jonathan Phelan of the FSA said: "We are serious about intensifying our crackdown on mortgage fraud."
