Why is it that people scream and shout about Jack and Eck's latest pronouncements yet they have absolutely no opinion whatsoever on important issues of the day like who they can buy a Vodafone mobile telephony contract from? Sometimes I wonder about people's priorities!

This move by Vodafone is clearly going to reduce choice for the consumer in the high street.

I have no opinion as, a few years ago, I had the choice of a proper life or one dominated by the social scourge of a mobile telephone. I chose a real life. And also a mobile phone 'zapper' which, of course, I have not used as such an action might possibly contravene the Radio Telephony Acts. ;-)

I am often astonished when waylayed by staff of Phones4U outside their Princes Street branch and offered the latest whiz-bang model at an oh-so-low rental. This always happens when the outside of the shop is bedecked with balloons. I would imagine that there are always a few balloons inside as well.

Vodafone must be mad this is a very strange move, lets see what happens in a years time if phones4U dont sell what Vodafone want and miss targets.
