Scottish & Newcastle chairman Sir Brian Stewart yesterday snapped up an extra 2,872 shares in the company just two weeks ahead of the its takeover by a Heineken and Carlberg consortium.
Stewart, who owns 33,478 shares in the Edinburgh-based brewer – 0.0035 per cent of the firm – bought shares as part of S&N's Save as You Earn scheme.
