RAIL bosses have apologised after closing a ticket office at Waverley Station due to "staff shortages".
The "tickets in advance" desk was closed around two hours earlier than normal last Saturday afternoon.

A spokesman for National Express East Coast, which manages the travel centre, said: "

At this time in the day, customer numbers are relatively small and so the effect of this was minimised. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."

Thanks for the apology. I had to walk home because I couldn't buy a ticket!
