THE owner of Edinburgh music venue The Picture House has announced that its finance director has retired.
Tom Simmons had been group finance director at Mama Group – which also owns several London venues, including the Hammersmith Apollo – since its floatation in December 2005.

Adam Driscoll and Dean James, joint chief executives at Mama, said: "We would like to thank Tom for his considerable contribution to Mama Group since its flotation in December 2005.

"We wish him a happy and relaxing time in his retirement and look forward to continuing to see him at many of the Group's live music events in the future.

"We're also delighted that Tom will continue to play a part at Mama over the coming months in assisting the handover to the new group finance director."
