Tim Bowdler, who is standing down as chief executive of Johnston Press, owner of The Scotsman, is to be the non-executive chairman of PA Group.
PA owns the Press Association, the national news agency of the UK and Ireland. The roles of chairman and chief executive had been held by Paul Potts since Sir Harry Roche's retirement as non-executive chairman in May 2008. PA said appointing a non-executive chairman "would allow the executive team to concentrate on growth and development of the business."
