THE specialist & acquisition finance (SAF) arm of Clydesdale Bank and its sister company Yorkshire Bank completed 71 deals worth a total of £290 million in the six months to March.
That is more than double the deals completed in the same period a year earlier.

As a result of this increase in business, the operation, led by head of specialist and acquisition finance Richard Kennerley, also doubled the size of its work force to 65.

Kennerley is supported by five regional directors who manage teams in Scotland, Yorkshire, north-east and north-west England, the Midlands and London and the south.

The SAF specialists work closely with the business banking teams in Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank's network of Financial Solutions Centre.

Kennerley said: "We are increasingly becoming the deal maker of choice for the owner-managed business. Our local approach ensures we are best placed to truly understand our clients' business and make fast, considered decisions."
