PUBS firm Young & Co's Brewery reported an increase in first-half pre-tax profit yesterday, but said like-for-like sales fell over the last seven weeks in an "extremely challenging" market.
Young's, which has 222 pubs in London and the south-east of England, reported a 9.4 per cent increase in pre-tax profit to £11.9 million for the six months to September as it benefited from new pub openings and its focus on the resilient London market.
