DAVID Fisher, HBOS group director of human resources, has surprised colleagues by announcing his sudden resignation.
Andy Hornby, the outgoing chief executive of HBOS said: "David delivered an outstanding contribution to Halifax and HBOS both in HR and many other senior business roles."

Fisher, who was due to take over the top HR role at the combined Lloyds Group, said he was leaving for "personal reasons".
