Delay warning as M9 to close for five nights

THE M9 will be closed for five nights as essential repair work gets under way next week.
Motorists are being warned of delays when the work begins on the northbound carriageway at Newbridge on Monday. This section will be closed from 7.30pm until 6.30am until next Friday.

Drivers will be diverted off the motorway on to the Newbridge roundabout and will rejoin the M9 at the slip road from the roundabout.

Aggregrate Industries are carrying out the work for BEAR Scotland, after consulting with police and the city council.

A spokeswoman said: "The works are being carried out overnight to reduce the overall level of delays and disruption to traffic. Some delays are inevitable and drivers are asked to plan their journeys accordingly and to observe the speed restrictions."

Is this an attempt to try to encourage people to use public transport?

Oh! I forgot! Public transport doesn't always run at night.

Oh, well! Just take the car and put up with it.
