Boris Johnson bids to ban booze on buses

NEW London Mayor Boris Johnson was to unveil plans today to ban alcohol on the city's transport network.
The prohibition of drinking on the Tube, trains and buses is part of a wider strategy to tackle antisocial behaviour.

Mr Johnson was to join London's transport commissioner Peter Hendy to set out a timeline for bringing in the ban.

I fail to see how anyone would want to have a drinks party on the London Underground. I spend as little time down there as I possibly can.

Why not just ban children from using buses? In my experience it is kids who cause most of the problems these days. Might stop them getting fat as well and we could buy smaller buses that would be full more often so saving on greenhouse gases. A win win win scenario. And while we are on the subject when oh when is alcohol going to be banned on trains? On a number of occasions I've had to speak to groups of baying drunken morons coming off the rigs and heading down South. Is it too much to ask that British Transport police actually do some chucking off? A late night taxi ride for these drunken swearing morons would soon put a stop to it.

I supposes banning booze on buses is better than doing what the labour party (and SNP) are trying to do and ban the damn stuff in pubs and in the home.

Good man, Boris! You said in your manifesto that you'd do it and it looks like you're going to keep a promise. Carry on like this and I might have to stop calling you a politician.
